Choose your trip in Myanmar (Burma)

How to choose your trip to Birmanie?

Your choice depends first on your available time and the regions you want to visit. On a 13 to 17 day format, we concentrate the itinerary on four key stops: Yangon, Bagan, Mandalay and Inle Lake, with a steady but realistic pace. On 18 days and more, it becomes possible to add a two-day trek between Kalaw and Inle, the Golden Rock of Kyaiktiyo, a boat journey down the Irrawaddy or a few days at Ngapali beach.

For a first trip, we recommend a minimum of 14 days to allow time for meaningful encounters and avoid back-to-back domestic flights. Travelers returning to Birmanie often head south (Hpa-an, Mergui archipelago) or the Chindwin river.

Different types of trips

Our cultural circuits highlight Buddhist heritage, ancient capitals, traditional crafts (Myinkaba lacquerware, Mandalay puppets, lotus fiber weaving in Inle) and encounters with ethnic communities. Adventure itineraries include treks between Pa-O and Danu villages, cycling climbs across the Bagan plains or slow navigation on the Chindwin. For family trips, we adjust distances, add engaging stops (e-biking in Bagan, hot air balloon flights from age 8, swimming at Ngapali) and favor accommodations with pools.

What is the best season?

The dry season, from November to February, remains the most comfortable period, with 20 to 30°C in the plains and cool nights at Inle. March and April become very hot (up to 40°C in Bagan), but the light is stunning and crowds are fewer. The monsoon, from June to September, complicates access to the coast and some regions, without preventing visits to Bagan, Mandalay and Inle where rainfall remains sporadic. October and early November offer lush landscapes and clearing skies, with fewer visitors at sites.
