Day-by-day itinerary

First discoveries of Yangon and Shwedagon Pagoda
Aéroport International De Yangon → Yangon
Upon your arrival at Yangon international airport, you are welcomed and transferred to your hotel to begin your stay in Birmanie.
Discover Yangon, the former capital of Myanmar and the economic and cultural center of the country, which is home to approximately six million inhabitants.
Start with a stroll through its colonial quarter, where buildings bear witness to the city's history. You will discover in particular The Secretariat, the place where General Aung San, a figure of Burmese independence and father of the future Nobel Peace Prize winner Aung San Suu Kyi, was assassinated on July 19, 1947.
Continue your immersion in local life at Bogyoke market, a recommended stop to discover the hustle and bustle and colors of daily Burmese life.
In late afternoon, head to the Shwedagon Pagoda, symbol of Yangon and a major pilgrimage site in Myanmar.
Entirely covered in gold, it is said to house, according to tradition, relics of four Buddhas. Take advantage of the late afternoon light to admire this iconic monument.
You spend the night at the hotel.

From Yangon to Mandalay, former royal capital
Enjoy a free morning in Yangon to rest or continue your walks around the city, depending on your preferences and your family's pace.
Early in the afternoon, you are transferred to Yangon airport to take your domestic flight to Mandalay.
Upon arrival, you are welcomed and then driven to the city center, located approximately one hour from the airport.
After your hotel check-in, enjoy your free afternoon to relax or take a first stroll around Mandalay.
You spend the night at the hotel.

Royal Pagodas and Panorama from Mandalay Hill
Dedicate this day to discovering Mandalay, Myanmar's second city and former royal capital, known for its temples and historical monuments.
Among the sites to discover are the Mahamuni Pagoda, one of the country's most sacred Buddhist places, as well as the imposing royal palace citadel.
Continue your visit to the Shwenandaw Monastery, remarkable for its teak wood architecture, then to the Kuthodaw Pagoda. Its 729 white stupas house inscriptions of the Tipitaka, the Buddhist canon in Pali language, which earned it the nickname of "world's largest book".
At the end of the day, head to Mandalay Hill, either on foot or by car, discovering several monasteries and pagodas along the way.
From the summit, admire the panorama of the city, situated between the Irrawaddy River and the foothills of the Shan Mountains. The sunset offers a beautiful opportunity to appreciate this landscape.
You spend the night at the hotel.

U Bein Bridge, Ava city and cruise to Mingun
This morning, head south of Mandalay to discover the U Bein Bridge, a famous teak wood walkway 1.2 kilometers long.
You then continue your excursion to Ava, a former royal capital located on the banks of the Irrawaddy. A horse-drawn carriage ride allows you to explore this historic site, notably the Me Nu Ok Kyaung monastery and the Nanmyin tower, the only remaining vestige of the royal palace.
At Mingun, discover the imposing unfinished pagoda, whose construction was undertaken during the reign of King Bodawpaya. Intended to become the largest pagoda in the world, it was never completed after the sovereign's death. You will also be able to observe the large crack caused by the 1838 earthquake.
The visit continues with the immense Mingun bell, also commissioned by the king, then with the Hsinbyume pagoda, built by King Bagyidaw in tribute to his deceased wife.

Crossing through the Birmese countryside and cruise to Bagan
You leave Mandalay heading southwest to cross the central plain of Myanmar. This journey through Burmese countryside allows you to observe rural life, with the possibility of making a few stops and visits along the way.
You then reach Pakokku, on the banks of the Irrawaddy River.
At Pakokku port, you board a private boat heading to Bagan. For approximately two hours, you travel down the Irrawaddy River while observing the landscapes and daily activities that animate its banks.
You arrive in Bagan in the late afternoon and check into your hotel. Then take advantage of your free time to make a first discovery of the surroundings at your own pace.
You spend the night at the hotel.

Exploration of Temples and Pagodas of the Bagan Plain
Spend your morning exploring the Bagan Plain, a vast archaeological site located along the Irrawaddy River. More than 2,000 temples and pagodas, built between the 11th and 13th centuries, are scattered throughout this landscape dotted with vegetation.
As you discover the site, admire buildings of various sizes, including the Gu Byauk Gyi Temple, the Manuha Pagoda and the Nan Paya Temple.
In the afternoon, continue your exploration in Old Bagan, an ancient fortified city of which some wall remains are still visible.
You will discover several Buddhist monuments, notably the Bu Pagoda, the Shwegu Gyi, Maha Bodhi, That Byin Nyu and Dhammayan Gyi temples, as well as the Shwesandaw Pagoda.
After this day devoted to Bagan's heritage, you return to your hotel for the night.

Free day in the heart of the Bagan plain
Enjoy a free day in Bagan to relax at the hotel or continue exploring the archaeological site at your own pace.
You can stroll among the temples and pagodas or rent bikes to explore the surrounding area with your family.
To complement your stay, an optional excursion with vehicle and guide can also be organized to more distant sites, with the possibility of visiting craft workshops.
These additional activities are offered as options. Consult your local agency to find out about possibilities and rates.
You spend another night at the hotel.

Pindaya Caves and Arrival on the Banks of Inle Lake
You leave Bagan in the morning to go to the airport and take your domestic flight to Heho, in the Shan State.
Upon your arrival, you head towards Pindaya, a village located in a mountainous region north of Heho.
In Pindaya, discover its natural caves housing more than 8,000 Buddha statues.
The village also has a lovely lake and a traditional market, which allow you to appreciate different aspects of this mountainous region.

Navigation on Lake Inle and discovery of stilt villages
Set off on a day of discovery by canoe on Inle Lake, located at approximately 1,200 meters altitude and surrounded by lush hills.
As you navigate, observe the daily life of the Intha ethnic people, who live in stilt houses and cultivate fruits and vegetables in floating gardens.
Your exploration continues towards the Phaung Daw U Pagoda, located in the central part of the lake.
This Buddhist pilgrimage site houses five Buddha statues, covered over time with numerous gold leaves deposited by the faithful, to the point that their original forms are no longer recognizable.
Continue your exploration of the lake with a visit to stilt monasteries and craft workshops, to learn more about local traditions and activities.
In the afternoon, you return to your hotel after this day of navigation.

Traditional Markets and Discovery of Indein Village
Start your day by discovering one of the traditional markets in the Inle Lake region.
Set up on the water or on the shores, these markets allow you to observe exchanges between locals, some of whom travel by canoe. They follow a particular cycle, with several markets organized each day around the lake.
You then navigate west of the lake, before taking small canals crossing the fields to reach the village of Indein.
Throughout your excursion, observe the agricultural activities and daily life of the villagers who live around the lake.
In Indein, discover an archaeological site of the Pa-O ethnic group, whose remains blend into the vegetation. Also enjoy views of the surrounding landscapes.
You then return to your hotel at Inle Lake for the night.

Free day and relaxation around Inle Lake
Take advantage of this free day at Inle Lake to organize activities according to everyone's preferences.
You can choose to rest, stroll through the surrounding villages, rent bikes to explore the region or relax in hot springs.
Scheduled activities can also be added to your stay upon request with your local agency.
After this day at your own pace, you spend one last night at your hotel by the lake.

Lac Inle → Aéroport De Heho
In the morning, you leave the shores of Inle Lake to reach Heho airport.
You then take your domestic flight to Yangon, where your return international flight awaits.
Depending on your international flight schedule, it is possible to arrange a vehicle with driver in Yangon, as an option and upon request from your local agency.
